Chia Pudding

Chia means strength in the Himalayan language. Chia seed benefits healthy skin, supporting the heart and digestive system.  Chia seed is so beneficial because due to being rich in fibre, omega 3 fats, protein, vitamins and minerals.  They are a rich source of antioxidants.  Clinical studies has shown that Chia seeds has curbed hunger and suppresses appetite.

Chia Pudding is frozen friendly, no dairy, no sugar, processed free.  A healthy breakfast or snack alternative.

Ingredients:

  • 1 x part* coconut milk (cup/jar/etc)
  • 1 x part chia seed
  • 4 x part water or coconut water
  • 3 x teaspoon honey (can add more to sweeten)
  • 1 x teaspoon vanilla essence organic (can add more for flavour)

*Part – half cup, one cup, any measurements you use

Time to Prepare:

15 minutes

Method:

  1. Mix coconut milk, water, honey and spice. Stir well.
  2. Add Chia seed and mix well for about 30 seconds to a minute
  3. Keep checking the consistency for the next 10 minutes, if its too runny add more chia seed and if too thick  add more water.  Adjust to suit your preference.
  4. Once mixed well, cover and refrigerated overnight

Topping Ideas when Serving:

  •   Frozen Mixed Berries
  • Bananas
  • Mango
  • Strawberries

Serving Size:

For 1 cup part, 10 serves of half cup chia pudding
